In 1522, a wounded Spanish soldier named Iñigo de Loyola walked into a cave outside the Catalan town of Manresa. He had lost his leg, his career, and most of his plans. For months he stayed there — writing, praying, thinking. When he emerged, he had the Spiritual Exercises. From that single document he forged the Society of Jesus — the Jesuits — an order that would go on to build the most disciplined, most durable, most globally distributed intellectual and educational infrastructure in human history.

Five hundred years later, their universities are still running. Their schools are still the best in every country they operate in. Their principles — focus, preparation, adaptability, long-time horizons — still define how the best operators in every field think.

It's a family tradition, not a business milestone. What I bring back is personal: a quieter mind, time with the men I love, and a renewed sense of what actually lasts.
